For International Businesses

For international businesses operating in — or deciding on — China

An independent advisor for the China decisions that are hard to get right from outside the market.

My perspective

See the market as it is

China rewards companies that understand it commercially and operationally, and penalizes those running on assumption. I help leadership teams see the market as it is, decide, and run it — drawing on 20+ years operating in China.

A focus

Supplier due diligence — better odds than a coin toss

Most international businesses find a supplier, place an order, and hope. At best it's a coin toss — and the downside only shows up after money and time are committed: quality failures, IP leakage, undisclosed subcontracting, capacity that isn't really there, or a trading company posing as the factory.

Supplier due diligence turns that hope into a calculated choice. I verify the factory is real and owns the capability it claims, confirm what it actually makes and at what scale, check financial and legal standing, and surface related-party and subcontracting exposure — so you know whether a supplier can be trusted as a partner before you rely on it. Why play with worse odds when you can play with better ones?

Emphasis

Practical decision-making

I focus on the choices that change the outcome — market entry, localization, competitive response, supply-chain resilience, and China / global coordination — not on generic advisory frameworks.
